October 2024, by unanimous vote, the mayor and council reallocated ARP funds, claiming excess funds from Parks and Rec summer scholarships, the police, healthcare, the library and some A/V equipment. This 250k was reallocated to the Marina for the restaurant/bar rehab "enclosure". You know, those doors that go up and down...

Mayor Nystrom: Officer, Remove Him!
October 20, 2025 Council meeting. Shiela Hayes made a motion to close public comments early. Boston Ben spoke about being banned from the Senior center for speaking about our history and visiting POTUS in the past. Just a few weeks before the election, comments closed (7-0) and the next meeting canceled (5-2).
Pietro “Rocky” Camardella, stated we have the right to address the government. "It's in the Constitution of the United States of America!"
Mayor Nystrom: No more outbursts.
Rocky: Or what?
Mayor: Officer, remove him!
Rocky: Excuse me, Am I breaking the law. Then get away from me.
Mayor: Disorderly Conduct, Disturbing the Peace
Rocky: Am I breaking a law? Right now?
Rocky was NOT removed from the council room. Another citizen resident said, "Leave Rocky Alone" and the officer left his side.
There were no charges, nothing broken except perhaps, the mayor's ego.
